Braun x Whalebone Magazine: A Backyard Shindig

Recently, Whalebone Magazine and Braun hosted a weekend of backyard fun at Hero Beach Club in Montauk … and you were invited, so maybe you’re in some of these pics. But for those that were not there, our apologies and please pay more attention to our social media for your next invite.

Editors from top publications around the country such as GQ, O, The Oprah Magazine (and others) were taken around on an “unofficial guide” to Montauk’s ins and outs. Over the course of the weekend, they experienced a private grooming and product session with Dan Gregory, founder + creative director of Man Made London from the UK, a day of yoga and paddleboarding (no one got lost at sea, but we promised not to tell who fell in), a waterside dinner at Harvest On Fort Pond and a well-earned night out at The Surf Lodge.

No one ended up needing a lifeguard rescue.

Back to the backyard, the Whalebone and Braun teams combined forces to host a summer afternoon with a nice spread from Chef Robbie Prado, Montauk Brewing Co., Archer Roose Wines, Ketel One, JUST Water and a big bag of sun-friendly tunes thanks to our friend DJ Oli Benz. All this while keeping the guests cool with some level of appropriateness for poolside and beach activities. No one ended up needing a lifeguard rescue, which is always a bonus when you have a hundred or so good friends and family gathered from across the country.

There were epic lawn games to be had (unlike the kind your grandparents used to play), including giant Connect 4, Jenga and some good ole-fashioned corn hole. But the real takeaway seemed to be that proper shaves went down with our new friend Dan. As soon as the first bold volunteer decided to get a shave, a line of guests quickly piled up behind them to watch Dan do his thing and even get a little cleaned up themselves.
