What Your Girlfriend (Really) Wants This Christmas

We’re Here to Help (With an Assist From Huckberry)
Christmas is supposed to be a time of year to make fun of your coworkers at the holiday Christmas party, not be judged for your festive Spotify playlists, and feel all warm and fuzzy from holiday cheer and maybe too much eggnog. It is also the time of year where you’ll find boyfriends pacing the aisles of department stores awkwardly or sending some “SOS” texts to Moms/friends/other women in his life, asking one very important question—”What should I get [insert lovely girlfriend’s name] for Christmas?” Boyfriends of the world—put the candle down.

Our friends at Huckberry have made it super sweet and simple to find the perfect gift(s) for that special someone. Here are some of my favorites from their collections—feel free to order two of any of these and send one to my attention at the Whalebone office.

There May Be An Exception to that Whole No-Candle Rule

TE14 Headlamp

Huckberry, $50

BUY

Because a girl needs a good headlamp for that next camping trip, music festival in the woods, or late night dog walk.

Herbivore Jasmine Body Oil

Huckberry, $44

BUY

Oil (hair/body/face) is in, and Herbivore is doing it right with their jasmine body oil. Loaded with all-natural ingredients, this stuff absorbs quickly and keeps the skin feeling moisturized all day long.

Rumpl Ocean Dusk Puffy Blanket-Throw

Huckberry, $100

BUY

A great companion to the couch, the campsite, the movie theatre, or the tailgate, this blanket is here to make sure that “I’m cold” doesn’t get in the way of having fun. The Huckberry-exclusive image of the ocean that’s printed on it might even make her feel like she’s taking a dip—minus the whole being cold thing.

Thunderbird Cuff with Turquoise

Huckberry, $70

BUY

This J. Alexander cuff is handmade in Mexico and a surefire hit for the jewelry lover in your life. If she really likes turquoise, might we suggest pairing it with this jewelry box for a double whammy.

SeaVees Laguna Chelsea Boot

Huckberry, $128

Think of these as the traditional Chelsea boots’ younger sister, who happens to be ridiculously comfortable and ridiculously stylish.

Sonos Play: 1

Huckberry, $149

BUY

Does she sing in the shower? Play her MacBook at Max volume while getting ready for work in the morning? Frequently host dance parties in your living room? Might be time to get her a Play: 1. This speaker a great addition to any room, and humidity-resistant so those shower singing sessions can have some background music.

Coyuchi Cloud Loom Robe

Huckberry, $148

BUY

Our R&D department hasn’t been able to touch any clouds yet, but we imagine they are as soft as this guy. Comes equipped with side packs for snacks on a Stranger Things binge day.

Matador Transit Tote

Huckberry, $39.99

BUY

Too often I find myself heading to work with one too many bags in tow, and should probably stop using the tote my college gave out at orientation. This tote from Matador not only looks good, but is waterproof (shout out to the days when you forget your umbrella), big enough to hold all your things and can take the beating that is the subway commute.

Julia Szendrei Morse Code “LOVE” Necklace

Huckberry, $37

BUY

This necklace is handcrafted in San Francisco and spells out “LOVE” in morse code using alternating gemstones and beads, so you can say something without saying anything at all.  It comes in a gold variation too if she’s not one for silver.

Sydney Hale Bourbon & Brown Sugar Candle

Huckberry, $25

BUY

If there’s any exception to the “no candle” rule—it’s this right here. Scents of double aged bourbon and salted brown sugar caramel last for up to 50 hours. Even better is that once the candle burns down, the glass doubles as a perfect whiskey tumbler.

Huckberry’s last ship day to guarantee Christmas delivery is December 20th.
