Not sure if you want to dive into learning to sail? It’s something you’ve always thought about but you have commitment issues. Sail Montauk is a local sailing school that offers classes and private instruction. All of their trips are hands on so you can do as little or as much as you feel like doing. This includes: hoisting the sails, trimming the sheets, steering the boat, or just sitting back and doing nothing but enjoying the #views. There’s a few weeks of summer left and we recommend you hurry up and get onboard.
1. Skinny Dipping Sessions
Sail Montauk offers 3 hour daytime sails that include hands on cruises that are BYOBLS (bring your own beer, lunch, snacks). Half way through the trip they tie off for a mid-day swim and the most intense water gun fight you might ever take part in. They supply pool noodles and floaties if you forgot how to swim.
2. Ultimate Date Night
The best place to watch (instagram) the sunset is from the water. We recommend bringing a cooler of cold ones and a assortment of cheeses and nuts to really set the mood right. Private charters are a sure fire win. You’re welcome.
3. Floating Day Parties
For larger groups Sail Montauk offers Floatilla style day sails. Multiple boats sail out of Montauk harbor into the sound and tie off for an epic afternoon.
