No Shoes? No Problem

Shoes. We at Whalebone don’t like to use those much. We try not to when we don’t have to.

Part of being out here for the summer is experiencing what it’s like to be in a beach town. And that means sandy, barefoot toes. And what’s better than taking off your shoes and lying in the grass? Well, we’ve got some great places to ditch your kicks and take it all in barefoot.

Amagansett Square. This large green right off Montauk Highway is a picture perfect picnic location. Pack food to go or walk barefoot into Hampton Chutney for the most amazing Indian food you’ll ever have. Squish your toes in the grass and enjoy nature while eating. Ahhh, the Hamptons. The square often has movie nights where families can come to enjoy the latest hits on a big screen while relaxing on a blanket.

Herrick Park. A ghost park in the winter, this magical play ground turns into every kids dream in the summer. There are other children running around every, and parents can easily sprawl out on the grass while the kids run around. A perfect place to kick off those sneakers and feel the ground.

The beach. This is pretty obvious, but all of the beaches from Southampton to Montauk have the most amazing sand. It’s probably like nothing you’ve ever felt before, which is why you need to ditch the shoes and dig those dainty digits into the soft, crispy sand.
