That’s right gang, one of our favorite East End staples is landing in the city this fall, and we are pretty sure that world domination is next on the horizon. Vaughan, Joe and Eric of Montauk Brewing Co (@montaukbrewco) have been integral partners to Whalebone, and we couldn’t be happier for them as they show those city folk what real beer is all about (Hint hint, make yourself free tonight and head on over to The Rusty Knot). Below is an email from the founders, showing love for all their fans over the years, and announcing this monumental expansion. And being Yankee fans, we are pretty glad we no longer have to go to Citi Field just for the beer.
A letter from the founders:
May 24, 2011: Come celebrate Memorial Day with your local brewers at 71 Gloucester Ave.
To all of our friends who have supported us along the way, we could not have grown to where we are today without your enthusiastic support! You all received the above email for a party in 2011, where we poured some home brewed beers and celebrated with friends. I’m honored to announce that on September 14, 2015, Montauk Brewing Company will be launching distribution in Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens, Bronx, Staten Island, and Westchester. It is a humbling and unique experience for us, and we would like to thank all of you for your generous support as we’ve grown.
We intend on making our community proud by brewing the freshest beer, from New York State’s easternmost brewery!
There will be a pre-launch event this Friday, September 11th at The Rusty Knot in NYC (425 West Street, New York City) starting at 5PM and going all night. This is the first of many accounts that will serve Montauk on tap, and we would like to share this experience with anyone who is in the area. We understand that everyone is super busy, so no stress if you can’t make it, we will be having many events in the upcoming months.
This note is really just a massive thank you to everyone who has supported us along the way!
Cheers and thank you thank you thank you,
Vaughan / Joe / Eric
