This Friday, Matt Schwartz (aka She Hit Pause Studios) will be hosting an opening ceremony + kicking off his artistic residency at Montauk Beach House through the month of August. In preparation for the show, we caught up with stylistic gentleman to discuss why he enjoys capturing Montauk and his unique style + weapon of choice when it comes to photography.
“Coming out to Montauk during the week and the ‘offseason’ is heavenly. Aside from the surfing, the beach and never-ending sky are fairly unique when compared to any other beach I have photographed/surfed at in other countries.”
“Polaroid has been a microphone for my voice as a photographer. Everything I want to say is louder, yet softer at the same time. Everything about it from the instant gratification, to the tangibility, to learning to let go of results, has kept me hooked. There is no deleting, so the weight of each picture is immeasurable.” – Matt Schwartz
To get the full glimpse of Matt’s work + enjoy some good company (Vacationer will be handling the tunes), head over to the MBH’s events page and hit the RSVP for Matt’s opening ceremony on Friday, August 29th (6-9pm). Thanks Matt.
