With all this talk about Long Island receiving its own wave pool, we were reminded that Japan — once upon a time — was home to a damn lovely wave pool too. Although Japan’s wavehouse, known as the Ocean Dome, is no longer serving up chlorine-blue barrels and surprisingly good air sections to jet-lagged surfers, it doesn’t hurt to dream that something like this could be back in action and closer to home sometime soon.
How about that wedge at the 0:45 mark? Did the guy’s behind this artificial beach break steal Mother Nature’s blueprint for Fernando de Noronha?
