What a weekend. A few months ago, when we were making arrangements to attend Jesse and Maggie’s wedding, not once did I think we’d also manage to score some waves. Then Hurricane Irma popped into the Atlantic. Unfortunately, Irma ended up wreaking havoc on the Caribbean, but it also managed to send long period ground swell up the coast—just in time for the weekend up north.
The morning of the wedding day, a group of us—including Charlie Weimar, Grant Monahan, Chris Carillo, Brynn Maguire and Pat Schmidt—made the decision to check out some local reef breaks. With the help of Chris’ boat, we motored along the coastline, only to stumble upon an insane offshore reef break surrounded by deep channels.
Despite some angry locals, the boys traded off fun waves for hours—which you can run through above. The wedding that followed was epic. Congratulations to Jesse and Maggie!
