El Salvador in 35mm

Flying down to El Salvador this past March was one of the best last minute decisions I’ve ever made. I ended up booking this trip less than a week or so in advance—completely unaware the end of March through early April is primetime. This can be attributed to the fact that wet season hasn’t started yet, but the first south swells of the season like to start showing face around this time and light up all of the country’s famed point breaks. So, with little-to-no idea about any of that, I threw my dad’s old Pentax Super Program 35mm film camera in my bag, along with four or five rolls of film in my carry-on, and headed off to capture what would end up being all the goodness you now check out, featured in the gallery above.

Thanks to my surf guide Emilio, awesome accommodations with AST Adventure’s Punta Flores and Casey & Jessica Kwiecinski being down to hop in front of the camera while down there.
