This year, AWOW (A Walk On Water) is coming back to Montauk’s Ditch Plains Beach for the 3rd annual Surf Therapy event on Friday and Saturday, September 8-9 from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. The event will be hosted by Adam Sender, founder of Sender Company and Partners (obligatory “send it!”), Reginald J. Brown, The Corcoran Group, The Sax Leader Foundation, and The Montauk Beach House.

Through the continuously run Surf Therapy weekends on both the east and west coasts, AWOW looks to celebrate and honor courageous kids, adults and their families with no labels. Athletes will feel the thrill and confidence that only “a walk on water” can provide and families will be fully supported and cared for as they share a much-deserved day of fun, relaxation and respite.

“As parents of two special needs children, we strive to find happiness and success for our twin boys,” said Nadine & Charles Wong, parents of AWOW Athletes. “We deal with the various daily challenges that life showers us with. However, when we are at an A Walk On Water event, the world stops and we feel like it is a day to celebrate our children. At AWOW events, they greet us with open arms and our children are loved unconditionally.”

AWOW is a super rad cause + initiative and if you’re in the neighborhood, you might enjoy swinging by Ditch and checking it out/getting involved. For all the goods and info, head over to the AWOW website and check out consciouscityguide.com/awowmontauk for this weekend’s Ditch Plains event sign-up.
