Summer isn’t summer until…you hit the surf, you have sand in your car and you eat a lobster roll with the sun on your face. Memorial Day weekend is just around the corner and we’ve rounded up 6 of the best lobster dishes around town. There was some debate here as to who had the best lobster roll – Bostwick’s Chowder House or The Clam Bar – so both made our list…you can be the judge.
Sag Harbor
Shellfish bouillabaisse with lobster tail, mussels, clams, shrimp and scallops
Sag Harbor
“Old School” lobster garganelli with corn, basil and saffron cream
(Bonus Tip – At this dockside restaurant, every Wednesday night is Lobster Night!)
East Hampton
Lobster roll, a New England classic served with coleslaw and a choice of fries, potato salad, or potato chips
The Stretch – Amagansett
Lobster Salad Roll
Southampton
Lobster and local corn quesadilla
East Hampton
Crispy fried lobster with a ginger scallion sauce and plantain fries
(Wish we had a photo of this guy for you, but we dropped our phone …somewhere…after dinner that night. Let’s just say all our photos were compromised. So you’ll just have to head over to this new comer and taste it for yourself – trust us it’s worth the trip!)
Last but certainly not least, Red Hook Lobster Pound.
Montauk/Brooklyn
The Lobster BLT, made with exactly what’s in its name. The Whalebone Mag’s upstairs neighbor did it right with this simple yet delectable lobster, apple wood bacon, lettuce, tomato and mayo sandwich.
