Kelly Slater to be exact. After being the World Surf Champ a cool 11 times, Slater decided to step off the board and into something different in 2015. With his background in surfing and a commitment to keeping our world clean, Slater began Outerknown, a coastal sustainable men’s and women’s wear brand. What started as a mission to craft great-looking, lasting pieces that help protect natural resources has grown and is beginning an east coast takeover. As long-time friends of Whalebone Magazine, we’re pretty happy to share Outerknown’s two new store locations opening in Soho, NY and Boston, MA.
