Based on a true story, Black Mass features a spine-chilling Johnny Depp as James “Whitey” Bulger, a notorious gangster that forms an unlikely relationship with an FBI detective to take down a mutual opponent — the Italian mob.
As a result of his cooperation, the FBI chooses to condone Whitey’s own criminal organization, which by no coincidence looks to pick up right where the Italian mob left off.
