How To Spend 10 Years In Hawaii In One Night with Photographer Justin Jay

PRESENTED BY CADDIS

Aloha from The Library on Bleecker

Justin Jay has photographed the likes of Sean Combs, The Strokes and Alec Baldwin to name a few, but surfing and the culture around it have always been a passion of his.

Man of the hour.

“Growing up in Southern California, I’ve always had a love for surfing,” he said. “I’d been mesmerized by pictures of Pipeline since I was a kid.”

And that passion was felt at the celebration of Jay’s book “HI 1K 10 Years / 1000 Moments On Hawaii’s North Shore,” when our friends at CADDIS helped us transform The Library on Bleecker into a little piece of Hawaii in the West Village.

Those images taken over ten years at Hawaii’s iconic North Shore filled the walls of The Library where they could be admired, pulled off the wall and then taken home after Justin signed it if you liked.

As guests hunted down their favorite shots with a Montauk Brew Co., JuneShine Hard Kombucha or JUST Water in hand, strangers became friends as they connected through Justin’s visual storytelling, and the rare chance to able to hear the stories of their shots from the man behind the lens.

Aloha.
