It’s hard to follow up a weekend that included concerts and appearances from a weighty portion of the upper echelon of 90s hip-hop, re: Busta Rhymes going full ham at Memory last Saturday, Ja Rule doing Ja Rule stuff at Surf Lodge this past Sunday. In a twist of plot, this weekend features less hip-hop stars from a decade ago and more hip-hop stars that champion the now (as well as other, non-dancing related events).
Drake + Future are ripping up MSG all weekend, the Montauk Playhouse is hosting their annual Gala (be there), Girltauk is having a lingerie collab event with items that your girlfriend will love you for, MAD DECENT BLOCK PARTY is taking over Brooklyn (Saturday is sold out, but Sunday’s still open), and Surf Lodge + the MBH + all your other favorite spots are providing a healthy handful of jams. The weekend forecast (shining into next week) looks damn lovely. See you guys on the dancefloor.
