Chris Burkard would be the first person to tell you that Iceland is far from the ideal surf trip. Three hours of light each day, brutal winter storms and freezing temps? Fairly certain we can think of a few other places on Earth worth the $500+ plane ticket. Still, Chris—alongside filmmaker Ben Weiland and a pretty gnarly crew of surfers—didn’t care to read the memo. And from what the final clip in the trailer above will show you, it looks like the expedition might’ve paid off—all during the worst storm to hit Iceland’s shores in 25 years.
