Presented by Whalebone Magazine and Fjallraven

Hop on the bus, gus.

Or in this case, it’s more of a van.

While putting together The National Park Issue of Whalebone Magazine we had the pleasure of meeting a nice fellow named JR Harris. Also known as the Red Hat Man, JR is the ultimate outdoorsman as well as a member of The Explorers Club—casual. So we kindly asked JR if he wouldn’t mind us following him around with a camera for a few days. He said yes. And then we turned it into a film.

JR Harris sits on a stone ledge next to a stone wall. He's leaning forward and smiling, elbows resting on his knees. He wears a red hat, sunglasses, tshirt, and pants. Next to him, resting against a stone wall is a backback and walking stick.

So, the Whalebone crew packed our bags with our friends at Fjällräven for the National Park Film Tour.

We started off in NYC with our National Park Issue Release Party and then headed out west to make stops in Denver, Seattle, and Berkeley. Folks stopped by for a special viewing of the film followed by a Q+A session with Fjällraven guide, lifelong backpacker, author, and Explorers Club member, JR Harris. But no need to book a plane ticket. You can watch the movie here, in the comfort of your own home, or converted van, or mom’s basement.
