You can fill in the blanks. The short, which was a featured selection at the Women’s Surf Film Festival in Montauk this August, fills in a few of them for you.
“The women’s surf community in Tofino is as unique as British Columbia is remote,” Struck says. His film chronicles the place, but also the Queen of the Peak surf contest, which just wrapped its 10th year, which Struck just returned from. “The annual all female surf contest Queen of the Peak was started by women,” he says, “and is a testament to the grit and determination of the women who live there.”
