Momofuku Pork Buns, Communion in Manhattan

Before David Chang became “Chef David Chang,” the world renowned restauranteur studied religion at Trinity College. We’ve been trying to make sense of this stumbled-upon fact, and we think we figured it out. Here’s our take:

Chang saw religious studies as something to be leveraged with great potential, perhaps in creating a church-like following for his real passion — quality restaurants and food. Case in point, Chang’s Momofuku Noodle Bar and its highly celebrated Pork Buns.

A NYC favorite, Momofuku’s Pork Buns have become a staple in most Manhattanites weekly lunch schedule. Our managing director, Bronson Lamb, lived atop Chang’s first restaurant, and went as far to say that these iconic bites are “heaven on a bun.”

We almost always believe Bronson, and we definitely believe in Chang’s ability to craft edible masterpieces. Anyways, Eater.com ran an in-depth piece on the Momofuku Pork Bun and it’s worth a hungry look, if not an empty-stomached visit to the East Village noodle bar. #Preach.
