Cold-Pressed at the Montauk Juice Factory

You’ve probably heard about this cold-pressed juicing craze thing, and have found yourself asking — what’s the deal? First things first, we’re not talking about Juicy Juice here. Unlike that sugar-laden radioactive liquid that comes out of a Capri Sun pouch, “cold-pressed juice” refers to juice that is 100 percent raw, meaning there are no preservatives or artificial additives, the juice is never heated nor treated and it is extracted in a way that preserves up to three to five times the vital nutrients than regular, old school juicing (aka centrifugal) — allowing these action-packed nutrients to be directly absorbed into your bloodstream.

We like to get out there, live it up and be little wild and free, but at the end of the day we know it feels really good to replenish our bodies with something amazing. Whether you are looking for a nutritionally rich meal replacement, or a superfood supplement to add to your current routine, we have found juicing to be one of the most powerful (and simple) lifestyle changes you can ever make.

SIDEBOX: In the world we live in, most people are not consuming their daily recommended nine servings of vegetables and fruit. They may not even consume those “daily” servings in a week! Those of us who can’t, or won’t, eat enough raw fruits and vegetables can 100 percent benefit from cold-press juicing. It’s one small step in the right direction of taking control of your health … and one that may just accidentally lead you to other healthy steps. In fact, this may become your next best bad habit. Consider yourself warned.

The good news is there is a juice for everyone and every level. The bad news is while there are countless benefits to juicing, and it can seem overwhelming at first. That’s why we have concocted each of our juices to be purpose-built, so you know exactly what you’re drinking and why. We also came up with the Newbie Key — rating each juice by where it lies on a scale of beginner juicer (someone whose afraid of what they might taste and might be a little picky when it comes to fruits and veggies) to the pro juicer, who is ready for anything that may hit their taste buds.

Without further ado, we present to you a few of the MJF lineup superstars — designed to help you polish your daily grind and your state of mind, as well as effortlessly ease you in the life of cold-press juicing.

Had one too many? Nah, probably not — you? Never! But this is the juice for your “friend” that may have gotten after it last night. Dope Beet:

Beet, Pineapple, Cucumber, Parsnip, Jalapeño

Purpose:

FUEL

Why:

As you strive to achieve, maintain and sustain performance levels this is a must-have drink. Beet juice has been found to increase the level of nitrates in the blood which means less recovery time and longer stamina, while the punch of jalapeño kickstarts your metabolic rate.
